- just jump with your back foot on the tail and at the same slide your foot up

No pain no gain
- My friends are great at helping me work an ollie, I'm still trying to get my head around it. I won't let a little physics stop me from trying. I'm not going to try it on grass or holding a pole, because that's a bad habit to pick up. I'll just stick to grazed arms and sore legs thank you..! xD

be patient
- im 13 and ive been skateboarding for around almost 2 years. the ollie wasnt tough to learn at all but once i learned it it helped me learn the heelflip, kickflip, fs flip, 360, tre flip, and lot of other things. the thing is to not be afraid and to not let others hate on you and say "you suck dude just quit!" tell them to get on a skateboard and try haha.

just grap a rail
- i just got a board ,grabbed a rail and tryed it. its a lot easyer when you can hold tomething. first practice whit two hands holding to someting, then one hand and then zero. same for kick and heelflips
- —Guest rjskater
toohard too long
- it took me like a year to learn the ollie. i started good at first but wen i got to a sk8park i got so nervous i forgot.i can ollie now (2 years later) but only like half a foot if i want to land and fall.if i want to land it i can ollie like 3 inches.

DARN POP!
- My boyfriend has got me into skating. I used to hate watching him and just standing around. I've been practicing for about 2 and a half hours today and I've pretty much got an ollie down. Just having problems with the height. ;/ I got told to try an ollie holding your weight up with your arms on something. That way you only focus on your feet. I tried this a few times and it really helped me learn. Girls can skate see. ;)
- —Guest JESSICARRRRGH.
took about 2 weeks
- biggest mistake: not JUMPING!! you have to jump with your back foot or else your not going to get any air.
- —Guest ..
Just 15 minutes
- it's easy when you have friends to support you. My friends showed me the right way to do an ollie. now after 2 years of practicing on a skateboard i can do an nollie and impossible plus a kick flip. my olli can go to 2 meters. i am lucky to have such good friends. ^_^

practice makes perfect
- Well im only 12 ive been sk8ing for 4 years now and i really had trouble getting good timeing on the basic ollie. but i took about a mounth to get my ollies over 30 - 40 cms high but it was worth it because that helped me learn how to trey and kickflip and heaps more!
