Don't ever EVER get a world industries
- They have no pop, look pretty cool but aren't and they break really easy like I'm talking three stair... I'm not joking

Don't confuse deck quality with parts
- This topic should focus on decks only (name brand or named blanks) and not trucks, wheels, bearings, or grip tape. Just because your grip wore out fast doesn't mean it's a bad deck, just bad grip. Good pop, hard wood, no delaming, resistant to snapping, etc will define a good deck.

Buy from a real skate shop
- Don't bother saying Walmart or TRU boards suck cuz they don't even count. Go to your local shop and ask for help. Unless you're a straight poser they'll be happy to help and even if you are wack they will take your money and give good advice. They'll likely only have branded decks so it'll cost a bit more but for a first setup it's worth it. There are a few blank companies with decent decks but I think pros are better. I like my Given but can't say it's the best. Personally I care more about supporting the local skate shop than big companies and pro skaters cuz we need a skate community to be the best we can be (unless you're Rodney Mullen!).

walmart brand sucks!
- my first board i ever got was super cheap and badly made from walmart.. had it for 2 days. wheels cracked in half, board broke (started cracking first 5 minutes of using it) and was super heavy.. made tricks wayy hard to do. basically worst piece of crap ever and waste of time and money! stick with quality brands not supermarket ones.

worst non toy-store-board there is
- ok first of all, a "toy store" boards suck. but the 100% worst board you can buy from a legit company is Element Thriftwood. most begginers/new skaters think element is like the best brand it isnt. im an advanced skater im working on tre flips i know what im talking about. i ordered an Element Thriftwood online one time, when it comes in the mail i take it out of the box and realize IT WIEGHED LIKE A POUND! No LiE! just the deck itself, no trucks/wheels/grip attached yet. it also was very thick. like way too thick. i bought this was before i could even kickflip. or pop shuv. on like the 5th day of skateing it delaminated majorly, chipped at the sides, and about 15 days later i snapped it while practing rolling flatground ollies. yeah.. dont buy Element Thriftwoods they suck.

This blows,
- I know this sounds wierd, but don't get Girl skateboards, they might feel like there amazing but they crack really easy, trust me, once the razor tail comes in the tail is gonna be on it's second to last ply, stick with something reliable like real, deathwish, habitat, toymachine, etc.

Darkstar Armor Light ROCK
- I have had mine for almost 3 years and it never broke i recommend one big time.

Alien Workshop
- AWS boards are simply bad for drops. They may have cool graphics and Rob Dyrdek, but that's poser stuff. Two of em snapped by just ollieing off a little picnic table.

Zoo York
- biggest curves on the board ever! No Grip At all, as soon as i got on it, it broke.

NEVER BUY BOARDS FROM TOY STORES!
- my friend boughtt a crappy board from walmart and after one ollie the trucks magically bent then a toys r us board got a crack down the middle from 1 ollie after that we got a target one and the grip tape magically peeled off after a 3 minute skate session just dont buy boards from toy stores save up and buy a real board
