Cheap, Quality Downloads
The videos are cheap to download - only US $3.99. As a special promotion, TotalVid is offering half off to your first download if you visit their site from this review!You get to watch the video as much as you want for a week, and then the video expires. If you want to buy the DVD, they cost about US $20, and as a bonus you get a permanent download of the video as well.
The idea of downloading a temporary video felt weird to me at first - but if you think of it as a one week rental, it makes more sense. The actual downloading process is a little slow. It took me about twenty minuets with a cable Internet connection to download American Misfits, and it took about the same for Logic 6. That seems like a long time. The video quality was great, though. The site has instructions for hooking your computer up to your TV, and the videos are good enough quality for it.
TotalVid has a huge library available, but their skate section is a little skimpy at the moment. However, it is growing quickly - remember that the company is relatively new, so keep your eye on their site and I'm sure that before you get through downloading all the skateboarding videos they have, they'll have added something new (article continues below).

TotalVid also features an area where users can see free video clips of videos available on TotalVid. Plus, you can now submit your own footage to share with other skaters! Who knows who might be watching?“We want to give users sneak peaks of our rapidly growing library of action sports videos,” says Dawn Allen, TotalVid’s marketing manager. Besides promoting the videos it sells, TotalVid welcomes videos produced by the community. “We want users to feel like they own this area of the site, so we’re inviting visitors to submit their own footage (in surf, skate, or any other action sport) for placement,” says Brenda Drake, TotalVid’s account manager for content.
