Gareth Stehr's Go-Go Toe Jam DVD - Skateboarding Skills
If you were able to see this tour this summer, don't let me know. I'm jealous. The Foundation team is a wicked fun group, and all through the Gareth Stehr's Go-Go Toe Jam Skate Tour DVD you get to see some incredible intensity from the team. Here's some of my favorite parts: Tommy Gurrola kickflip 180s a pyramid right into the crowd in Russelville, Arkansas! In Madison Alabama the team has a powerful intensity, flying around the park. Again, I have no idea how they do it. In Louisville Kentucky Angel Rameirez ollie 180s up to kiss a rail with his front trucks, and skates away fakie. Very sweet. In Kansas City, Kansas Leo Romero kickflips an 8 stair, and the crowd goes nuts. The DVD is full of sick skating like this - this is only a couple of parts that I personally liked. I didn't even talk about Corey Duffel, Ethan Fowler, or the rest of the Foundation skateboarding team. These guys had an incredible tour, and if you missed it, that's all right! now you can get the best parts of all 50 million stops crammed into one DVD!
Gareth Stehr's Go-Go Toe Jam DVD - All About the Stehr
Of course, Gareth Stehr is the star of the show. Well, not really, but he's the reason for the tour and you get to see him prove he should be on the Foundation skateboarding team. All through the tour, Stehr looks about 10 years older than he is, and a little like Kid Rock. At least the white trash part. Throughout the DVD, you see Stehr not just keep up with the team, but do his own part. My favorite footage of Stehr's is after the credits, when you see him ride up and ollie a gap between two ramps, ride down and immediately ollie up and tailslide a rail. Hmmm. My description makes it sound all stale, but trust me, it's sweet. Through the whole DVD, Gareth Stehr is riding his own new pro signature skate decks (see review).
Gareth Stehr's Go-Go Toe Jam DVD - Warning
Gareth Stehr's Go-Go Toe Jam Skateboarding Tour DVD does have a couple of things that more conservative parents might want to know about. The video has surprisingly little cussing in it, no nudity or drug use, but it does have a fair amount of the team signing women's chests. The women aren't nude or anything, they just have low-cut clothing. But really, next to other skateboarding videos out there, this is nothing. No raging, no cop-killing, nothing else to worry about.
Gareth Stehr's Go-Go Toe Jam DVD - Cataclysmic Abyss
The DVD does have an extra little bonus bit at the end - a taste of the new Foundation Skateboarding Company's new skateboarding video "Cataclysmic Abyss", coming out in 2006. This segment is quick, but I loved it - fast paced, pounding music, rich sounds of skating hard - Cataclysmic Abyss looks to be pretty sweet.
