Heelside Railstand

The heelside railstand is a little trickier. Here's my way to do it: Take your back foot off of your skateboard, and put the toes of this foot right on the side of the back wheel / trucks. Now, in one smooth motion, jump off of your front foot and pull the skateboard up onto its side with your back foot. The action should look quick and small - you don't need to jump very high, just a little pop up in the air while you turn the board into a railstand.

Here's another method. Put both feet so that the toes hang quite a ways off the skateboard (almost touching the ground), next to the wheels. Now jump, and turn the board into a heelside railstand. This method doesn't look quite as cool, but it might make more sense to some skaters.

There are many ways to get into railstands, and you might find that something else works best for you - that's fine. All that matters is that you end up in a railstand! Now try these tricks...
