I recommend getting that front foot out of the way, and learning to do the Pop Shuvit without having to steady the board with your front foot.
If the board tries to do anything besides a varial spin (a spin around in a circle below you), then keep it steady with your front foot and practice getting that spin cleaner. I'm nervous about saying to do this, because you don't want to end up relying on it, but if it works for you, then go for it! Some skaters keep their front foot touching the middle of the board through the entire Pop Shuvit. I recommend learning to Pop Shuvit without touching with your front foot, but you will probably need to start with your front foot keeping the board steady.
