Bones REDS Bearings

Bones Bearings

The Bottom Line

Picking out your skate bearings can be a pain. There are so many out there, and it seems like they all do about the same thing. So, what should a new skater do? Buy top of the line bearings? Get generics? Bones REDS are the perfect solution. They're cheap (only a little more than generics), and very high quality. They aren't Bones Swiss, but they're good enough for most skaters out there.

Guide Review - Bones REDS Bearings

Most new skaters don't know what to do when it comes to buying their setup. If they have lots of money, they might buy the best board they can find. Or, they might get an old ratty board of their buddy. Both of these work just fine, but if you don't have piles of money, or you want to be smart with the cash you have, let me suggest you try out Bones REDS bearings.

Made by the same people who make all the Bones Swiss bearings (the best out there), REDS are awesome. Tons of bearing companies out there farmed their production out to China so that they could get cheap, crappy bearings to sell to you at a good price. Bones has a name to protect, however, and they put out the effort to make sure that REDS are high quality, well made bearings. They are still made in China, which is why they are still such a good price. Their quality is close to Bones Swiss - not nearly as good, but close.

So, if you are a new skater, these are the bearings you should try. If you've been a skater for a while and want something reasonably priced, but not cheap crap - try REDS. You won't be disappointed.

Broke in 3 weeks + no refund, Member AJ.W

I brought these for my deck which is use to cruise and bomb hills, I take it out three times a week max, only in the dry for an hour a time. On the third week I was thrown off my board badly spraining my wrist and also shredding my knees and hips. I took my board apart and one of the bearings had completely rusted up and frozen in place even though I'd only ridden in the dry. I email the manufacturer and the shop I brought them from, route one, saying it can't have been lubed enough. A month later the problem still hasn't been resolved and my wrist and knees are still wrecked. Please buy ANY other brand.
