RoadKill Skates Wolf Pack Value Kit Review

Road Kill Wolf Pack Deck Kit
Loads of small skate companies come up with their own unique logos and graphics, but unfortunately most of the time they suck. That's why it's great to come across a company like RoadKill Skates - a small skateboarding company with roots, that builds quality gear, and that has a good sense of what looks cool. The Wolf Pack Value Kit from RoadKill Skates is an awesome deal with the RoadKill Skates Wolf Pack skateboard deck (well built and sick graphics), RoadKill Skates T-shirt and stickers.

Wolf Pack Deck

Here's the basic specs of the Wolf Pack deck:
  • Made from 7 plys of Rock Hard Canadian Maple
  • The board measures 7 ¾ by 31 ½
  • Medium concave
  • Traditional tapered nose
These measurements are fairly standard - most people will enjoy riding the RoaKill Skates Wolf Pack skateboard deck.

The graphics are what really stand out about this skateboard deck. The art is by "Graphic Artist Extraordinaire" Tony Bacchiocchi (he's quite established - check out his website for examples of his work. I put it in quotes because everywhere I hear him referred to, he is a "Graphic Artist Extraordinaire". I don't think I'm an anything "extraordinaire"!)

The graphics are simple and striking with only two colors - black and red. The board looks like it's been splattered with blood, and near the top where the blood is thick the black silhouette of a wolf stalks along. The wolf doesn't look particularly vicious - killing is simply what it is made for. Seriously, I love this imagery. Down in the opposite corner is the small red Roadkill Skates logo. This deck looks clean and bold, and the colors and imagery are enough to grip your senses. It's awesome.

This skate deck is plenty awesome, but it also comes in a great value pack that includes a 100% cotton white T-shirt with the RoadKill Skates logo (which I think is pretty sick!), and two RoadKill Skates stickers. The whole deal costs the same as a regular skate deck.

RoadKill Skates

RoadKill is an online skateboarding company that seeks to provide more than just great deals on skateboards. Bob Linneman is a truly old school skater - he's been riding since 1979! He remembers the old Dogtown days. "I used to constantly have my ramps torn down by the police," Bob says. "We had nowhere to skate in those days." Bob became a web designer, and naturally turned to making a website for skateboarding. Bob liked in Delaware for a time where apparently some people eat certain types of roadkill ... a little weird, but the name really works for a skateboarding company!

The Bottom Line

If you are looking for a new skateboard deck and want something that isn't a mainstream brand but that's still well built, try out the RoadKill Skates Wolf Pack Value Kit. Not only will you have a slick cool unique skateboard, but you'll be supporting an independent small skateboard company. And seriously, take a look at the graphics on this baby. I'm a sucker for wolf stuff - I just think it's cool - but this graphic is so simple, so clean, and yet so clever. I'm all over it.

And while you're at the RoadKill Skates website, look around. Maybe you'll find something else to catch your eye - RoadKill Skates has other original RoadKill products as well. Remember to check out and support the little guys. Smaller original companies like RoadKill Skates keep the skateboarding industry alive, fresh and in the hands of the skaters.
