Anglel Boy Complete Skateboard Review

Angleboy completes are well built from high quality materials in the USA. The Angelboy brand name has been around for years, making quality skateboards and products for younger rippers. However, this Angelboy complete skateboard is a new deal - all Angelboy brand parts, great Angelboy graphics - everything you need. The board isn't designed to withstand the beating a skilled adult can dish out, but instead for younger, lighter kids. But that doesn't mean it's less of a skateboard.

Angelboy Deck

The deck of these Angelboy complete skateboards are made in Skate One's AirLam presses in California. 7 plys of Rock Hard Maple are pressed into a skateboard deck that's just as good as the pro series decks that Skate One makes. The concave is deep, which adds strength. The skateboard deck comes pre-gripped with real grip tape (as opposed to blown on crud that flakes off from the no-name boards people might buy at a superstore).

The graphic features Angelboy, all sag and attitude. There are a variety of Anghelboy graphics avaialbe. The one featured in this review shows Angelboy standing before a background of flams, sweating slightly. But he's not concerned about the fire as he casualy tosses a coin, one hand in his pocket, daring you to do something about it.

Angelboy graphics have a great contrast to many of the other skateboard companies out there. Angelboy is alwyas featured with plenty of attitude and tough, but never doing anything that I would imagine parents being offended with. He's a punk, no doubt, but he's an Angel punk! That's gotta count for something.

Angelboy Parts

The wheels that come with this Angelboy complete skateboard are Angelboy 54mm, with a 99a durometer. That's a great size for a younger or smaller skater. The wheels are big enough to skate around town on, but small enough to practice tricks. And the hardness is exactly what you would want to hit both the skatepark and the streets. The wheels come treaded, which is something that I personally always look for.

The bearings are stamped with the Angelboy name. These bearings don't do anything amazing, but they are plenty good enough. I would compare them to Bones Reds bearings, which are one of my favorites for quality balanced with price.

The Angelboy complete skateboard also comes with standard hardware, bushings, risers - eveything you would want of need. The board is pre-assembled, and ready to skate. The trucks are Angelboy brand as well, with his image stamped into the front. These trucks aren't anything too remarkable, but they are good - they didn't bend or break during my testing of them, and I weigh a lot more than the target audience!

Buying Cheaper Skateboards

Now all of this goodness does end up costing some money - but only half of what you would pay for a complete skateboard designed for adult standards. So why is this board so cheap? The guys at Angelboy found ways to shave off a few features here of there to make the whole thing a better deal. The wheels aren't any new high tech eurethane formula. The bearings aren't top of the line. The trucks aren't designed to improve grinding. But most of these features are lost on new or younger skaters - and if you buy an Angelboy complete skateboard and end up getting good, you'll know which parts to upgrade. And, you don't have the frustration of having wasted a lot of money on a part that you tore up without even realising its full potential. If you are looking for a new skateboard for you or your kid, the Angelboy complete is a perfect choice.

Quality and Skatability

Now remember - the Angelboy complete skateboard is designed for kids and younger riders, so if your big heavy older brother hops on and tries a boardslide, I have no idea what might happen. Seriously, in all likelyhood, everything would be fine. Unless your brother doesn't know how to skate, in which case you would get to laugh at him after he bashes his groin on the rail. You can always hope.

But otherwise, the Angelboy complete skateboard should be all you need. It's well built from quality parts by people who know and love skateboarding. What more could you ask for?
