The Zon is a complete skateboard designed by Andy Macdonald - the Zon is designed to be a good quality complete skateboard that costs a great deal less than other pro grade complete skateboards on the market. For the most part, the Andy Mac Zon does the trick - it's strong, well built, 7.625 inches wide, and comes out of the package ready to roll - for almost half the price or a regular complete skateboard. For more details on the Zon, read below.
Andy Macdonald is a pro skateboarder known for his skills in the vert ramp, and his love for kids. Andy Macdonald has been trying for a while now to produce skateboarding gear that's just as good as other gear out there, but at a price that kids can afford (read the

The Andy Mac Zon is built by Skate One, but not in California along with other boards like
Powell - Andy Mac skateboards are made along with
Angelboy skateboards and
Golden Dragon skateboards in China. This does raise some questions about the quality of the boards - most high quality skateboards are made in the USA at the moment. But don't let the "made in China" sticker scare you off - for quality, Andy Mac boards are good.
The trucks, wheels and bearings are all Andy Mac brand - about the same quality as Angelboy skateboard hardware and equipment. If you are an advanced skater, I would recommend spending the extra on a higher quality complete board, but for beginner or even intermediate skaters, the Zon is plenty good enough. And for half the price, for most skaters out there, it's a good trade.
The graphics on the Andy Mac Zon are a little weird. Something of a "breaking through against communism" theme. The graphics are all in oranges, reds and yellows, showing a factory landscape with Russian style buildings sporting red flags with stars. In the center, a gigantic fist is punching up through the ground, breaking a chain, with the name "Andy Mac" on a banner flying above. The wheels match the deck, with a red ring and punk stars.
The quality of the graphics are a little cheap, but not really bad. They just aren't my style. But then, for a complete skateboard this price, these graphics are pretty good! Plus, if you don't like 'em, you can either cover the deck with stickers or scratch off the graphics doing slides.

Andy Mac Zon Complete Skateboard Review

The Andy Mac Zon is the perfect complete skateboard for most riders - like I said earlier, if you are an advanced skater, or an intermediate skater with plenty of money, I would recommend getting a higher quality pro grade complete skateboard. If you are a new rider, or if you are simply looking to save some money, I would recommend trying out an Andy Mac Zon complete skateboard. The Andy Mac Zon is designed as a generic board, to be used in either park or on street, though I think it would be better for street than park. The wheels are smaller, treaded, and a little harder than pure park riding wheels.
Plus, if you are looking for a gift for a newer skater, and want to give him or her a complete skateboard but want to save some money, the Andy Mac Zon is a great idea. The Zon is available through Amazon.com for about $60 US - take a look at the Andy Mac website to connect up and get one.
