CreateASkate.org is demonstrating to students all over the country how relevant learning can be by walking them through building their very own skateboard, right in the classroom! They get to actually make a skateboard by hand. In establishing the CreateAskate.org program, Paul Shmitt, a skateboard manufacturer for 15 years, hopes teenagers can discover for themselves a sense of pride and accomplishment, while also seeing first hand the real value of understanding things like math, science, engineering and art.
