Appreciation and The Multi-Christmas Effect
Skating in freezing cold weather may be enjoyed or severely hated. The individuals falling into the hatred category have some ideas that can be exercised. Try thinking a little before turning crazy. Understanding that winter will not last forever and that eventually skateboarding can be enjoyed at its fullest is a great way to release some stress. Complaining about winter, cold and snow had better turn into kissing the hot, dry pavement and blooming flowers when spring and summer roll around. Winter is good at making skaters and non-skaters alike appreciate the times when it is not winter.- The Multi-Christmas Effect
Spiritual Acts and Secret Powers (Seriously Dude)
If the winter weather allows zero skating days, it does not mean the skateboarding mindset needs to be shut down completely. Practice makes perfect, and performing some tricks and maneuvers on flatland can be done indoors. Videos of skating, trick tip tutorials and skateboarding articles can open up new doors and ideas while inactive. For longboarders, this is a different story. Safely performing a normal long distance skate or hill bombing session with mounds of snow and ice on roads is not a practical option. Thinking of how nice it would be to skate and try new tricks or maneuvers makes one want their opportunity even more. This is where the spiritual nature usually kicks in; people do not typically realize it either.Taking a break from any activity that you normally perform may improve your skills and open up new possibilities when you make your return back to that certain sport or doing. Skating is no different. Some state that having a break is great. When they start back up with whatever it may be, they are better than ever. Some will declare that having a break or not being able to continue their normal routine hurts their abilities. However true these claims may be, one thing is certain. That fact is, once a person returns to their beloved activity after a length of dormancy, they will go harder than ever, cherishing every single moment they spend taking part in the motions of their sport and hobby.
If roads are covered in deep snow or thick ice, normal skating is out of the question. Here is a quick list to break the winter weather:
- Indoor skate parks
- Finding a parking garage with minimal security and traffic
- Snowplows, shovels, and lots of clothing layers
- Watch some videos, study up on some new tricks, read community and industry news related to your skating genre
- Make a list of things you would like to try
- Make a list of what you can improve on in your skating
- Look for new product (Usually on sale during winter seasons)
