Pro Skater Personal Websites
A LOT of pro skaters have their own personal websites, complete with e-mail options and stuff. Here are some examples: If you go to these sites, you'll notice that their URL names are basically www.THEIR NAME.com. You can try that with your favorite pro, but it might work better to do a search online, using something like Google, and type in the pro's name, with other words like "official website", "skateboarder", or just "website". It might take some poking around, since there are a lot of fan sites out there. And, if you can't find an official page, check out the fan sites too - they might have contact info, or they might have a link to another page that does. It might take some digging, but if you really want to talk to this pro, give it a shot!Community Sites
Right now, the biggest of these is probably MySpace or Facebook, but there are many sites out there like these where you can find pro skaters. Loads of pros have MySpace pages, too. There are also a few other pages, like Sk8site, a mini community for fans of P-Rod, Jereme Rogers and TK. You can contact these guys from this site.
Sponsor Company Sites
Pro skaters are all sponsored by different companies and brands, and a lot of these websites have some contact info or options. So, check out the pro you are looking for, and make a list of all the brands that sponsor him. If you aren't sure, you can just look for what stickers are on their boards or helmets, or you can look up a profile for that skater online, by checking out someplace like Google and typing in the pro skaters name, plus "profile", "bio", or "sponsors". Or all three together. It might take a couple of searches. You can also check out our Pro Skater Profiles list and see if we have one for the pro you are looking for.Once you have some companies, go check out their sites. You can search for them online, or most skate companies are listed with links in our Skate Gear Companies list.
These are 3 basic ways to help you find contact information for a pro skater. They might take some work, or it might end up being really easy! Give it a shot.
A lot of pros out there will write back to you, but some wont. It all depends on how busy they are, the time of year, and whether or not they are cool with writing back to fans. Still, give it a try, and if you don't hear back in a few weeks, try again! But do be patient - I'm sure they get a LOT of mail, and even if they want to write back to everyone, it must be tough to keep on top of. Don't assume they hate you or are a jerk if they don't write back very fast, or ever - you never really know if the e-mail or letter is even getting to them! So, try it, and hope for the best.
