Guide Review - Mavrk - Nike 6.0 Nerd Style Mavrk Skateboarding Shoe Review
Nike Mavrks are available with either leather (white or red) uppers, or two types of plaid that match the rest of the Nike 6.0 Nerd lineup perfectly. When looking at the style of these shoes, it's hard not to smile - I mean, plaid shoes? Yellow and brown plaid shoes?! But, here's the trick - the do look good! Combine them with the Nerd Long Sleeve Shirt, and impress the crowd. Then, impress them more with your skating ...
Nike 6.0 Mavrks are highly skatable, but they are the old-school style of skateboarding shoes that require that you have some skateboarding skill before you use them. Otherwise, you will shred them too quickly. There's nothing to protect your laces, no obvious side reinforcement for kickflips, and the tongue is lightly padded ... these shoes are all about the low, old school profile and confident skateboarding. If you are a new skater, and want some shoes to learn skateboarding on, I don't recommend these.
But, if you know a little about the art of skateboarding, if you can afford to replace these when they die, or if you like wearing shredded skate shoes to show the world that you can skate, then pick up a pair of Nike 6.0 Mavrks. Especially if you are looking for something unique and stylish. And while you're at it, take a look at the Nike 6.0 Nerd clothing lineup, and see if something doesn't grab ya (see the Air Mogans or Oncores. These are clothes that the late great Napoleon Dynamite would be proud to wear.
