The Bottom Line

Nike 6.0 Air Mogans are one of the coolest looking shoes in the Nike 6.0 "nerd" lineup. You can get them in some striking sporty color combos, and corduroy. But looks aren't everything - and Nike 6.0 Air Mogans are good for skateboarding as well. They're double stitched and lighter weight, so they won't last as long as some of the other heavy duty skateboarding shoes on the market, but they do reach a good balance between skatability and style. Plus, if you have the money, these Air Mogans match really well with some of the clothes available in the Nike 6.0 Nerd lineup!

Pros

  • Stylish mix of sporty and nerdy - it works strangely well! These shoes look great
  • Skatable and comfortable - Air Mogans are light and padded well

Cons

  • Not good for hardcore aggressive skateboarding

Description

  • Leather upper reinforcement adds extra durability
  • Encapsulated air bag in sole - thus the "air" in "Air Mogan"
  • Midfoot shank stabilizes foot

Guide Review - Nike 6.0 Air Mogan Skateboarding Shoe Review

When I test out a pair of skateboarding shoes, there's a few different things I do. One is, of course, to skate in them. I'm happy to say that Air Mogans work just fine for skateboarding. Nothing remarkable - in fact, if you push them too hard they look like they might blow out, but you can ride them and they should support your skating if you aren't too aggressive. They do have an extra little flap to protect the flimsy laces a little on your kickflips, and they feature a well padded tongue with stabilizer straps, and a padded heel collar.

I also try doing a few other, non-skateboarding things in them, to see if there's any bragging room there. Usually there's not. But, these Nike 6.0 Air Mogans are the second pair of Nike skateboarding shoes that I didn't mind running and jogging in (the other being the Nike Team Editions). They have flex lines cut in the sole, and hold well to your foot. I liked 'em.

And finally, when testing shoes I also wear them in public, and see what other people think. I gotta say, these Nike 6.0 Air Mogans got a GREAT response! Nike 6.0 also has some clothes in the Nerd lineup that match these shoes perfectly - I tried out the blue and Gray shoes, with the blue zip up fleece (check it out) - and the combo was warmly received by the female community. I thought you might want to know. It seemed like girls were even more impressed with the Nike Mavrk shoes with matching Nerd Long Sleeve Shirt, but that's another review! The point is, these shoes look good, and there's some good choices of colors.

The bottom line - if you are looking for some shoes to do everything in, and that includes skateboarding, get a pair of Air Mogans. If you want pure, hardcore skateboarding shoes, get a pair of Nike 6.0 Oncores. But if you want to run, skate, bike, walk and date - all in one pair of shoes - Air Mogans work well.
