Guide Review - Fallen Reliant Skateboarding Shoe Review
Not that you have to wear them that way, by any means. I like wearing my skate shoes with a relaxed fit, letting the shoe's padding hold the shoe on my feet. So for me, Fallen Reliants are perfect. But, if you want to lace them up tighter, and let the padding actually help cushion your foot more, go for it!
The only real special features of Fallen Reliants are a layer of rubber double stitched into the toe, the thick padding, and a good amount of reinforcement around the tongue. Everything else is pretty standard, and done well. Grippy, herring-bone tread. Elastic tongue stabilizers. Double stitching around the action leather upper (also comes in heavy duty suede). Simple, classy Fallen logo on the side, tongue and heel. The laces and lace holes have no extra protection or support, and there's not really anything else to scream about, but I did like trying them out, and they skate well. One nice thing - for how big they are, they sure are light ...
So, I would recommend Fallen Reliants. I would recommend checking them out in person at your local skate shop, if you can, just to make sure they style is right for you. They come in some sweet colors, like bright blood red, or black with dripping red Fallen logos on the sides! Or, calm brown suede with the logo stitched in, for a more quiet style. Drop in your local skateboarding shop and check out a pair of Fallen Reliants, and see what you think!
