Fallen Contra Skateboarding Shoes Review

The Bottom Line

Fallen Contras are tough, puffy skateboarding shoes - if you skate hard and want a good looking, well built shoe that can keep up with your style, take a look at the Fallen Contra skateboarding shoe. Features like the triple stitched toe cap, full action leather upper and thickly padded heel collar and tongue should keep your Fallen Contras alive longer than a lot of skateboarding shoes on the market.

Guide Review - Fallen Contra Skateboarding Shoes Review

In my opinion, Fallen Contras are perfect for the younger skater, or the skateboarder who likes to skate and live hard and rough. The solid action leather reinforced side panels on the upper that come down close to the toes really helped keep the shoe from getting to torn up during testing for this review. The toe cap is triple stitched, and could use a little extra layering for my taste, but then again, with the side panels so close to the toes, you only rip up the toe caps on the more technical tricks. Ollies should hit your foot right where a ton of extra stitching makes an X, and the leather is very thick. The laces don't have any extra protection, but the laces that come with the Fallen Contras are tough enough to last for a while.

You'll probably want to buy your Fallen Contra skate shoes in a bigger size than you usually wear. They have narrow toes - narrow enough for me not to want to wear them in my size. Just try them on before you buy them, and make sure you like the toes. If they're too narrow, try them a half size bigger - with the puffy heel and tongue, this is a good way to go. The shouldn't fall off your feet.

So the final verdict? Fallen Contras are great - buy them if you are an active skater, if you like being rough and tend to rip up your shoes a lot, and if you like having high quality shoes that also look good.
