Guide Review - Skateboarding TSG Knee/ Shin Pads – TSG Force III
These TSG Force IIIs are a huge improvement. The TSG Force IIIs are actually smaller than the older style, but also manage to give better protection. Plus, the smaller size means you have more flexibility and comfort while wearing them. You are still limited more than if you had no knee pads on at all, but not very much.
I also love the way these TSG Force III knee pads go on and come off. They use two wide soft Velcro straps behind the knee, then one large Velcro strap comes around the front on top while a small adjustable clip strap holds the bottom. This combo does two things – first, you can keep your shoes on while you take your kneepads off. I love that. Second, the two soft Velcro straps for the back of the knee only bunch up a little – they’re designed pretty well, and aren’t very uncomfortable.
As an extra bonus, the front plastic knee plate of the TSG Force III knee pads are easy to replace. They’re Velcroed on, but the hold is strong – they shouldn’t ever fall off on their own. With older knee pads, if you want to replace the front plates you have to use tools, or it just can’t be done.
Of all the knee pads I’ve tried out, these TSG Force III knee pads are the best so far. I recommend them for ramp skateboarding, and any other sports you might want to try them on.
