I went and bought a pair of "187 Pro Knee Pads". Wow! These 187 pads are the best I have ever owned. They fit perfectly tight and have never slipped. The 187 Pro Knee Pads wrap high up my leg and over the knee so there is no way for the pads to slip down. I highly recommend them!!
I bought a set of TSG Force III knee pads in August, they were primarily used for vert and transition skating. I routinely had to adjust and re-adjust the TSG pads all day. I have numerous abrasions where the pads slid down during a bail out and my knees got scraped. Recently, the left knee pad literally split open down the side during a bail out and my bare knee smashed onto the concrete, ouch!! I notified the manufacturer who wanted me to send them a couple of pictures of the damage. I sent the pics, but they never responded. I even emailed them twice and still no response.
After some careful research I discovered the 187 Pro Knee Pads. The have an open back design so you don't have to remove your shoes to put them on. The straps they use are positioned so that they really hold the pads in place. There are two layers of foam cushion under the replaceable knee cap. I had noticed that with the TSG pads, during a bail, my upper body was pushed forward, but not with the 187 Pro Knee Pads, my upper body is forced back, so I am sliding cleanly on the plastic knee cap. I highly recommend these to anyone seriously interested in safety and skate protection!!
