Landyachtz delivers one of the most, if not the most diverse lineup of any longboard company, never disposing of a design they sport over 30 unique and diverse boards ranging from hardcore downhill racing to casual sea wall cruising. Among the downhill boards is the Evo a hybrid drop deck well known to the downhill community. Landyachtz took this board hollowed out the entirety of the wood filled it with a lightweight foam and then wrapped the entirety of the wooden armature with a carbon fibre epoxy laminate.
Recent technical construction in the 2008 CEVO differ from the earlier CEVOS as the 2008 models are made using a more durable epoxy based construction whereas the earlier models were made using a vinylester system. What resulted was an extremely light, extremely torsionaly solid and durable platform for bombing some of the biggest and most technical hills in the world. All this quality and performance doesn't come cheap, the Carbon Evo can be yours for 574$.
All this technical advancement, all this hype about carbon fiber and foam, does it matter? Well over the past two years the Evo has won more World cup Downhill Skateboard races than any other speedboard. Many of them were won by the Carbon Evo, initially made in small batches this board is now openly available to anyone that wants to lay down the money. What makes this modified Evo so unique is the ability to take an already highly performing board and build it into a sleeker, more rigid, and lighter board. Something that does nothing but enhance the performance of the Evo which itself is 11 ply 2” dropped and sports an angled nose and de-wedged tail. This all comes together to make the deck lead with the front truck pulling the Evo through turns with greater control, stability and high speed precision. Delivering a board that underfoot gives you unparalleled performance.
What is special about the Carbon Evo, what is truly remarkable, besides of course it’s performance? Is that this is a commercially available high end board, this is at the top end of high performance racing longboards and it is commercially available to you, right now. You can actually buy the very board that has won more races recently that any other board. This truly is the board of downhill champions and it is yours today, if only you want to spend the money. Landy has taken this performance concept board and made it commonly available to anyone. Which allows people to ride the steepest, most technical hills on the very board other riders use to dominate the entire downhill racing circuit. With a Carbon Evo underfoot you can know for sure that if you can’t apex that corner right, it is your fault not the boards. Are you ready to take responsibility for your riding and test your skills on the board of champions? The Carbon Evo waits.
