The DC Hiatus II even features a removable laptop bag with it’s own shoulder strap, and a removable smaller bag that works great for toiletries or anything else you might want. The DC logos are stitched and screen printed on, and the whole bag looks and works great.

Guide Review - DC Hiatus II Travel Bag Review

I toured once for 4 months, and lived completely out of a travel bag and a back pack, so I have a pretty strong opinion about what a travel bag like this one needs. And in my opinion, the Hiatus II is almost perfect. It’s just the right size to carry everything you need - it’s strong, has plenty of pockets, and even has a couple of cool little bonus features.

One is the telescoping handle and recessed, thick, strong wheels. With a bag this sized, you’re going to be happy for these. Plus, with the wheels recessed as they are, this bag should be ok if checked in for a flight.

Another feature is a removable laptop bag, but this bag is too small for laptops with 15" screens. However, the laptop pouch is still big enough to be useful for other things, and it’s removable – it has extra padding and even has it’s own separate shoulder strap.

The Hiatus II is also missing a place to stow your board. You can sit your board on top and use the straps to hold your board on, but it’s not very secure and the laptop bag will need to be taken off.

This bag is packed with pockets. There is a small removable bag on the end that’s useful for things like toiletries. The inside compartment is huge, and the end pockets are flexible bags on the inside, so if they aren’t being used the inside compartment is even bigger.

When it comes to travel duffel bags and suitcases, the Hiatus II is a great choice, and should give you more than you need.
