February Skateboard Calendar

Held in Wellington, New Zealand, the Wellington Bowl A Rama is a pro men's and master's bowl contest, with a $20,000 US prize purse. Held February 12th to 13th, 2010.  This is a World Cup Skateboarding event.

Held Feb 20th, 2010 at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia.  This will features a Men's Pro and Master's (40yrs and older) level contest.  The total prize purse of $40,000 USD.  This is a World Cup Skateboarding contest.

Grind For Life is an organization that helps people with cancer, especially those who travel long distances to treatments. Grind For Life holds a series of 3 contests - the first one on February 27th 2010 at Eastwood Skate Park in Rockledge, Florida.  This is a street contest.  Call (321) 633-0888 for more into.

Grind For Life was founded in 2003 by life-long skateboarder Mike Rogers, after his second battle with sarcoma cancer. The mission of the Grind For Life organization is to provide financial assistance to cancer patients and their families when traveling long distances to doctors and hospitals. In addition, we educate and inspire these patients and families concerning cancer survival and recovery.

The Ian Tillman Foundation was founded in memory of a skater who died by falling off of his skateboard while not wearing a helmet.  It sounds shocking that someone could actualy die from simply falling off a board, but it's true.  The foundation works to raise helmet safety awareness and hosts skate contests.

This competition is set for Saturday, February 27th, 2010 at Stirling Skate Park in Dunedin, Florida.  The contest starting at noon, and going to around 4:30 pm.  All skaters need to sign waivers and wear helmets (there will be free loaner helmets available).  The contests cover all ages, sponsored and unsponsored, with bowl, best trick, and highest ollie competitions.  There will be raffles and other entertainment.
