X Games 11 Photo Gallery - Skateboarding Events

Danny Way arrived at X Games 11 with a fractured foot, from hitting it while jumping the Great Wall of China only 3 weeks before X Games 11. The Mega Ramp is Danny Way's creation, and the crowd cheered him on, even when he had to limp off the ramp after each try. But then, on his fourth run out of five, Danny Way not only landed the jump, but won the gold! Pierre-Luc Gagnon came in second for the silver (winning him his third medal for the weekend - a gold, silver and bronze), and Andy Macdonald landed bronze. Last year was the first year the Mega Ramp was introduced, and Danny Way was the only skater to try the "Sun Deck" - the 70 foot roll in, as opposed to the 50 foot regular roll in. This year all of the skaters used the 70 foot, even though for everyone except Danny Way, this was the first time they had skated on a mega ramp since X Games 10, last year!
