Pro skateboarders work on their own gear, and are responsible for their own stuff. Lyn-Z Hawkins changed skateboard decks right before the Women's Street Finals. Both her old board and her new board had "Rest in peace Dad" written on them - she was skating for her father, who passed away. Lyn-Z won silver in Women's Vert.
