E3 is a massive video games expo - imagine forcing Disneyland to swallow Las Vegas, and then putting gamers in charge. It's fun!
In this photo, you are seeing, perhaps a quarter of the Playstation 3 area. There was also a PS2 area, a PSP area, and then of course Nintendo, X Box, EA Games, Konami, Square-Enix, Blizzard, Activision... the list goes on and on!
Here are some E3 statistics and facts:
- More than 400 companies had exibits, representing more than 90 countries and thousands of the latest and greatest computer and video games technologies
- The exibition area covered 540,000 sqare feet (picture 40 Olympic-sized swimming pools)
- Nearly 1,000 never-before-seen games and products were shown this year
- There were over 5,800 flat screen television and computer monitors on the show floor
- More than 850,000 pounds of equipment were run along the convention ceiling!
- 110,000 sqare feet of banners were hung within the expo
