Sum 41 and The Donnas to Perform Friday Night At The Gravity Games®

Saturday’s Music Line-up to Include Top Selling Hip Hop Acts

Updated November 07, 2006
STAMFORD, Conn. – August 26, 2004 – The Gravity Games®, owned by the Outdoor Life Network, announces that SUM 41 and The Donnas will headline the music line-up for Friday, September 17th. Saturday’s hip-hop line-up will be announced early next week.

Tickets for the Gravity Games and Gravity Music Stage are available through Ticketmaster at (216) 241-5555 or online at Ticketmaster. All tickets are general admission. Individual day tickets are $12 and include the Gravity Music Stage. Fans can also take advantage of the discounted four-day general admission ticket package for $40.

Music is an important part of the overall Gravity Games experience,” said Gavin Harvey, President of OLN. “We’re excited to have SUM 41 and The Donnas in Cleveland for the Games and they’ll be an integral element in our telecast of the event.”

After nearly one year of hibernation in their homeland of Canada, multi-platinum act SUM 41 has decided to return to the stage. On October 12, SUM 41 releases one of the most anticipated albums and one of the band's heaviest and melodic to date, CHUCK.

'CHUCK' follows the band's 2002 release 'Does This Look Infected?' and their 2001 full-length debut 'All Killer, No Filler." Since their debut, SUM 41 has toured across the world many times over and are a MTV favorite. The band has performed on Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brian, and Mad TV, not only performing SUM 41's hits "Fat Lip," "Still Waiting" and "Hell Song" but also appearing with various rock heroes such as Iggy Pop (Letterman), Tommy Lee (MTV Video Music Awards), Metallica (MTV's Icons) and Gene Simmons (as animated guests on King Of The Hill). Sum41's first single, "We're All To Blame" from their forthcoming album, hit the airwaves August 30th and the Gravity Games will mark the bands first US performance to follow the airwave blitz.

The Donnas spent almost a decade as one of rock ’n’ roll’s coolest combos, but it was with the release of their major label debut “Spend The Night” that America fell head over heels for their trademark rock/pop blast. The album debuted in the #1 position on the Billboard “Heatseekers” chart of new and developing artists, fueled by their breakthrough radio hit “Take It Off.” The Donnas were also seen all over national TV, with appearances on Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and The View. In addition, The “Take it Off” companion video was a “Buzzworthy” sensation at MTV and MTV2, and a staple on the TRL countdown.

This Fall the Bay-area based Donnas will return with the eagerly anticipated follow-up to their breakthrough debut. Gold Medal, produced by Butch Walter (Avril Lavigne, Sevendust), will be in stores October 26th. The first single off of the album will hit radio September 13th, the same week the Donnas perform at the Gravity Games.

In the last six years the Gravity Games have hosted a diverse line-up of musical acts ranging from Jane’s Addiction to Run DMC; from Kid Rock to Busta Rhymes and this year proves to be no different.

“We are so excited about this year’s line-up,” says Pam Moore, Vice President of Music and Entertainment at Octagon. “Now that the games have a permanent home on Outdoor Life Network, we've been able to elevate the event to a whole new level."

The 2004 Summer Gravity Games presented by Saturn will take place from September 15th - 19th on Cleveland’s North Coast Harbor. Following the Bike Vert Finals, Friday’s musical performances will get started at approximately 9:45 with The Donnas and SUM 41 closing out the night.

In addition to the live action, fans can tune in to OLN® to see 17 hours of original Gravity Games coverage, beginning with a two-hour preview show on September 20th at 9:00 PM ET/8:30 PM PT. From September 21st – 25th, the Gravity Games Skateboarding, BMX and Freestyle Motocross competitions will air each night at 8:00 PM ET/8:30 PM PT. The coverage will include highlights from the concerts and activities surrounding the event.
