Elissa Steamer Takes Gravity Games Gold in Inaugural Womens Skateboard Competition
Experience trumped youth in the Gravity Games inaugural womens skateboard street competition today. Elissa Steamer, at 29 years old and more than twice as old as some of her competitors, grinded out the victory. When I first got here today I didnt think I would do as well as I did. I felt kind of flat in practice, felt bad on my first run but it all came together on my second run, said Steamer. Im really stoked. Its an awesome feeling. Im really, really happy. Lauren Perkins took silver and Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins won bronze.
Rodil Junior Takes Gravity Games Gold in Skateboard Street
Rodil Junior, 26, captured the Skateboard Street Gold Medal tonight at the 2004 Summer Gravity Games presented by Saturn. This is Juniors first Gravity Games Gold after taking home the Silver Medal in the 1999 Skateboard Street competition. The Brazil native was joined on the podium by Silver Medallist Greg Lutzka, 19, and Bronze Medallist Ryan Sheckler, 14.
Paul Machnau Wins Gravity Games Skateboard Street Best Trick
Paul Machnau of Nelson, British Columbia captured the Skateboard Street Best Trick Gold Medal tonight at the 2004 Summer Gravity Games presented by Saturn. Machnau, 27, placed 7th in the Skateboard Street competition earlier today.
Rune Glifberg Takes Gravity Games Gold in Skateboard Vert
Rune Glifberg, of Copenhagen, Denmark, won the Gold Medal in the Skateboard Vert competition at the 2004 Summer Gravity Games presented by Saturn. Bostons Andy Macdonald, 31, won the Silver Medal, with Pierre-Luc Gagnon, 23, taking home the Bronze. Glifberg, 29, returns to the top spot on the podium after taking the Gold in 2001.
Sandro Dias Wins Gravity Games Skateboard Vert Best Trick
Sandro Dias 900 over the channel was enough to take home the Gold Medal in the Skateboard Vert Best Trick competition at the 2004 Summer Gravity Games presented by Saturn. Danny Mayer, 31, earned the Silver Medal with a Kickflip McTwist, while Pierre-Luc Gangon, 23, rounded out the top three.
