SHECKLER Wins Skateboard Park FINALS - DEW ACTION SPORTS TOUR’S TOYOTA CHALLENGE

BESTWICK, Guettler, Stenberg, Gagnon also notch titles

Jeremy Stenberg, 24, Winchester, Calif., won the Freestyle Motocross competition at the Toyota Challenge on September 10 for his first victory on the Dew Action Sports Tour, with a score of 93.70 on his first of two runs. His winning run was highlighted by a nac nac heel clicker backflip. With only one Tour stop left, Stenberg is in prime position to capture the year-end title, leading second-place Kenny Bartram by 13 points. Bartram finished in 10th place after crashing on his first run.

Adam Jones of Carson City, Nev., who placed second with a score of 93.50, moved up from 13th place to seventh in the overall standings. Mike Mason of Minden, Nev., placed third with a score of 93.30 and now sits third in the overall standings.

Also on September 10, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, 25, of Montreal, CAN, landed a run filled with technical difficulty to win the Skateboard Vert finals. Gagnon’s final run score of 92.75 was 1.75 points higher than the second place finisher. Gagnon’s winning run of complex tricks included a fakie to forward 720. Gagnon finished fifth at the Vans Invitational in Portland, second at the Right Guard Open in Denver and sixth at the Panasonic Open in Louisville. He currently sits in second place in the Dew Action Sports Tour Skateboard Vert standings with 269 points.

Finishing in second in Skateboard Vert was Bob Burnquist, 28 of Rio de Janiero, BRA with a 91.00. Burnquist finished fourth at the Vans Invitational, eighth at the Right Guard Open and fourth at the Panasonic Open. He currently sits in fourth place in the overall Skateboard Vert standings with 226 points.

Andy Macdonald, 32, of Boston, Mass. rounded out the top three with a score of 90.00. Macdonald finished second at the Vans® Invitational, fourth at the Right Guard Open and fifth at the Panasonic Open. He sits in third place in the overall Skateboard Vert standings with 242 points.

Bucky Lasek, 32, of Baltimore, MD finished eighth in the contest, but still maintains his lead in the overall points standings with 316 points.
