CROWD OF 16,766 WITNESS WORLD RECORD DEBUT OF SKATEBOARD BIG AIR AT X GAMES X
Prior to the debut of the Skateboard Big Air competition at X Games X, its pioneer Danny Way broke the Guinness World Record of 75’ (from
takeoff to landing) by four feet, nailing a 79’ practice run. “I didn’t plan on breaking any records.” said Way, whose last X Games
gold-medal victory was in 1995 in Skateboard High Air. “As the person who created the ramp I was already under a lot of pressure just to win it.” Read More.
900 STILL HOLY GRAIL AT SKATEBOARD VERT BEST TRICK
Tony Hawk set the bar in 1999. And, five years later, his peers are still trying to catch up. Dias hit the trick halfway through the 30-minute jam session and ignited the crowd at STAPLES Center. “I’m stoked to have landed the 900 here at X Games X,” said Dias. Read more.
WOMEN’S SKATEBOARD VERT TAKES OFF AT X GAMES X

WOMEN TAKE IT TO THE STREETS
The women’s skateboard movement may have gotten its biggest push to date on Friday afternoon at X Games X. Elissa Steamer put forth the most technical run out of the eight-woman field and earned gold.
BUCKY GOES BACK TO BASICS
Bucky Lasek takes his fourth gold with a heel flip front-side gay twist. The trick pushed him over the top at last year’s X Games Skateboard Men’s Vert competition – and it cinched the deal, once again, at X Games X on Thursday evening.
