Opinon: Skate DVD SMALL

The Bottom Line

"To each his own. Some group of riders are classified as teams. At Globe there are only riders." When making the Opinion: video, Whyte House tried to capture each rider's personality and style, letting each pick his own music and filimg each skater in his best environment. Considering that Globe has an incredible skate team, the Opinion: video is awesome.

Guide Review - Opinion: skate video

Everyone should own a copy of the Globe Opinion: skateboarding video. It's not the newest video on the block, but it's packed with incredible skateboarding footage. The video is clean and solid, with some of the biggest names in skateboarding.

You've got fast & furious Mumford, native Australian, hitting up his home turf. He's awesome. Then you go from no hair to Fernandez - who also skates incredibly. There's also Chet Thomas giving some simple, profound words on skating - and backing them up with his board. There's Gershon, Mosley, Fortune - Opinion: has an awesome lineup.

I have to admit, the Rodeny Mullen part was what attracted me first to this video. The guy is amazing. He's more than amazing. No matter what you think about his influence in building skateboards in China, you have to admit that he's just ridiculous to watch. No skater looks as one with his or her board as Mullen does, and no skater brings it to the next level in the same way. If he did rails and stairs, maybe people would talk about him more - I think that's lame. He's brilliant. And he pulls it all off with his calm, quiet, "normal guy" manner.

The DVD has some special features - enough to warrant owning it over the VHS version for sure. There's skater bios, some footage from the Opinion tour, Globe Ams, some trailers for other videos and more.

The Globe Opinion: video is easily recommendable. Though it's not the newest, it's one of the better skate videos available. Check it out.
