The DC Video Deluxe Edition DVD

The Bottom Line

The DC Video is one of the best skate videos on the market. It raises the bar for skateboarding videos, bringing the experience from watching home skate movies to watching a finely polished skate movie, worthy of a big screen. The Deluxe Edition adds a lot to the original, with more special features, improved music, and a full color book. Wether this is enough to inspire you to buy the Deluxe if you already have the regular - that's up to you. You could always give the original away!

Guide Review - Video - The DC Video, DELUXE EDITION

Once you see the quality and style that went into this video, you'll see why people are so excited about it. The skating, the humor, the filming, the music, everything - it's a great video.

The regular video came across a little skimpy on the extra stuff that we're all used to on DVDs. As far as the special features go, the Deluxe Edition adds a lot, with more Dyrdek Security stuff (and it's funny!), new footage, previously cut footage, and more on the Mega Ramp, both with Danny Way on it, and about how it came together. There's even a part where you can watch some footage about the premier of the video, with a warning at the start about how boring it is! And really, when you have a DVD, you kind of expect there to be some weird boring stuff in there. You also expect some special secret Easter eggs in there somewhere, and DC says that there are some. I haven't found any yet - if you do, feel free to let me know and I'll post it!

One thing that you don't usually expect with a DVD is a cool 86 page full color book, full of sweet photos, interviews, and piles of other great stuff! The Deluxe Edition earns the name "Deluxe".

The bottom line is that the Deluxe Edition adds some goodness to something that's already great. If you don't have The DC Video yet, you should definitely buy it. If you already have it, you probably don't want to buy the Deluxe Edition unless you have extra money to burn, or you love skating that much. For some of you, it's an easy choice!
