Guide Review - AKA: Girl Skater video
One of the girls featured in this video is Jamie Reyes - a legendary girl skater. Jamie has been skating for over a decade, and has a unique perspective on the evolution of girl skating. She also has a great deal of skill - it'll be wild to see where she goes from here.
Vanessa Torres is also on the video, with her rough attitude and first-place skating. She's young, but she's an excellent skater, and you get to watch her kick butt on this video.
Amy Caron's skating graces the AKA: video. She's newer to the skate scene, but her skating is tough. She's good enough to get to second in the Gallaz competition on the video - who knows where she'll go from here.
Finally, the video also features Australian Monica Shaw. Monica adds a great dimension to this video, and to skating - her personality. She's a happy-go-lucky young girl with a pile of fans. And, to top it all off - she can skate!
The AKA: Girl Skater video follows these girls as they tour, skate, meet the fans, and compete (and win) the Gallaz Skate Jam. The whole tour is lead by Dave Carnie, who has fun and shares his thought on the future of girls in skateboarding. Girls have been largely overlooked lately on the skateboarding scene, and this video takes a look at the current evolution, and these girls who are making it happen. As they say on the video, "See the face of modern skating change before your very eyes."
