Awesome. What would you say is your biggest inspiration for your skateboarding?

For skateboarding? I got a couple of ‘em. One being Tony. Tony inspires me because he’s got such a good head on his shoulders. And he’s still, he’s still putting it down. And the other thing that inspires me is my family.

Besides skateboarding, what else do you fill your time with?

I do a lot of karting - you know, shifter karts? I do that a lot now. Basically I just, maybe twice a week there’s a new track probably about an hour or so away from my house and I just go there and spend all day there with my buddy Randy from PTK carts, Paul Tracey Karts, and we just go out there and train and dial in the kart and I just train with some of the best karters out there. Polish the skills up.

You have a pretty nice sounding life going so far.

Yeah!

Where do you see it going from here?

I’m gonna keep skating and pushing it, skating and maybe branch out with car racing and maybe open up a business … That’ll slow me down, and I can’t slow down right now.

Yeah, you’re pretty focused.

Right. You have to be.

I also noticed that you seem to like kids and awful lot.

Yeah, I do. I’ve always been good with kids, even before I had mine. Yeah, there’s just fun loving and good spirited. They’re not tainted, you know?

How many kids do you think you’ll end up having?

I’m not going to have any more than 2, just because it takes a lot of energy, you know, and I think that when you have too many kids, you can’t like uh, raise ‘em the way, you know, you’d want to raise a little person, you know? Sometimes I see big families and the kids are just like neglected. You know, not bad but … You actually begin to create like a little monster sometimes.

(I laugh)

(chuckling) By not paying attention to it.

Right. Makes sense. So, have you ever gotten really hurt skating?

Oh yeah, you get hurt all the time! But the good thing about the human body is that it gets better. I mean no matter what, no matter what, you get better I mean in some case you might cripple yourself a little in a different way that you might have to compensate in another way, but…

So what can we expect from this year’s Boom Boom Huck Jam?

(chuckling) Well, from this year’s Boom Boom you can expect a lot of stuff that you wouldn’t normally see! A lot of close calls, a lot of rhythm, eye candy.

What would you say is mostly different from last year?

Well, we took the best from last year, and we started off the show with that. And now we’re working on the second half of the show which is all, I mean, it’s all new, we changed it up a hundred percent. We’re not doing anything the same as last year. It’s just gonna be better. That’s all I can say.

Nice. What about you? Are you pushing it towards anything new?

I got some new tricks I’m gonna learn on tour.

Always pushing it, huh?

You have to.
