Deck - Chocolate Nature Series

About.com Rating 3.5

By Steve Cave, About.com

Chocolate York Skateboard Deck

The Bottom Line

This series is pretty cool. If you want good ol' Chocolate quality, like nature, and like the Chocolate team, then you should check these out. I'm not as big of a fan of the graphics, but I'm not you - and I do know the quality of the brand enough to respect it. The boards have a fairly medium pop and a shallow concave.

Pros

  • Chocolate decks have a good history and reputation, as do the Chocolate pros

Cons

  • You're either going to like these graphics, or think they're lame. It depends on what you're into.

Description

  • Mike York's: Lillypads (see the photo)
  • Scott Johnston's: Dandelions
  • Chico Brenes': Cactus
  • Richard Mulder's: Leaves (light green)
  • Gino Iannucci's: Sticks
  • Kenny Anderson's: River Rocks
  • Marc Johnston's: Leaves (dark green)

Guide Review - Deck - Chocolate Nature Series

Chocolate skateboards are great, and the company has been producing quality for a while. Thier team is failry mixed ethnicly, which is cool to see, and chocolate graphics tend to be clean cut, simple, and non-vulgar. Which is also cool to see.

The Nature Series has seven styles, and two types of matching wheels (leaves size 51, and dandelions size 53). Some of the decks look pretty cool (Anderson's, Mulder's, Johnson's...), but in my opinion some look pretty lame (like Mike York's - see the picture). It all depends on what you're into, and who's name you want on the bottom.

The decks themselves are regular Chocolate quality, 7-ply maple with a light concave and a medium pop (tail / nose). The decks are quality.

Check this line out, and see what you think!
