The Bottom Line
Pros
- Made from thick cotton ripstop, these pants should last longer than most while skating.
- Stylish design, with cool DC snap buttons and curl-proof flaps.
Cons
- The fit is a little odd. The legs are great, but the waist is very long. Try sagging 'em.

Guide Review - Pants / Jeans - DC Compass
The pants also feature a reinforced heel, which is a good call for skating, and just every day life. It always seems to be the heel of the pants that are first to go for me.
What about style? The Compass has piles of cool brass button snaps, all featuring the DC logo. The front cargo pockets are angled, both for style and for more comfort. All the pockets have flaps that cover the snaps, with thier corners cut and angled. This is so they look good, and you don't get those stupid curl-up corners on your cargo pockets that seems to happen on every other pair of pants like these.
And finally comfort. Well, the pants are 100% cotton, so they're light and comfortable. However, the cut is a little off my taste. They have a low hanging crotch (sorry ladies, I sat here for a long while trying to think of a PC way of saying that), which I'm not super fond of, and the waist area is tight compared to the baggy legs. Now, this could just be some horrible mis-match between the pants and my body - but I wanted to let you know, just in case.
So, all in all, these are pretty good pants. Good for skatin' or datin', and they come in kid's sizes as well.
