Description
Guide Review - Shoes - DC AvatarThe DC Avatar has had any incarnations, from the H2Zero version to the Avatar HE or LE. This is because while the Avatar may be fairly basic, sometimes what's basic is what's best. The shoes are comfortable, with the Velcro strap and midtop height adding to the stable feeling of the shoe on your foot. The shoes also have breathable mesh side panels for ventilation, a hidden heel air bag, and other goodies that make the shoes pretty comfy. But comfort is only a third of what these shoes go for. They also go for durability, which is something that DC has never had much trouble with. The upper is made from sturdy abrasion resistant action nubuck, remember the Pal-Ab toe caps (a DC invention) and injected TPR (that's thermoplastic rubber - pretty fancy) lower eyelets for the laces. What's all of this mean? It means, the shoe is durable. You can destroy it, as you will if you skate, but it should last you a good long while. The third aspect these shoes go for is performance. These are skate shoes, and will perform excellently. The soles are sticky gum rubber with a versatile pattern, useful for skating, running, and anything else you might want to do. These shoes are fairly basic, but that means you know you're getting quality. DC makes great shoes, and the Avatar is solid example of DC's craft. Suggested Reading |
