Guide Review - Indo Kicktail Balance Trainer
The Indo site says that the Kicktail is meant for advanced riding. With that in mind, I jumped on after using the Original Indo for a few hours. They are right - it's a lot harder, and a lot easier to accidently have the board fly out from under you, smashing who knows what. But, it's also very useful, and very fun!
The Kicktail is larger, and allows you to move around more on the board - also, it's built with pop in the tail and nose, which helps you get the feeling that you are practicing skating. Furthermore, without the safety catches on the bottom of the board, the Kicktail can be turned easier, spun - all kinds of fun stuff. It's heavy, which is both good and bad - good because it helps with balancing and keeping the board from snapping beneath you, but bad if you want to try technical tricks. But, that's more the purpose of the Mini Kicktail - the Kicktail is for practicing big skate tricks.
So, start with the Original Indo, and then step up to the Kicktail - it's a great progression, and the Kicktail will help you learn more skate specific tricks and techniques than the Original. It's perfect for skateboarding, snowboarding and wakeboarding.
