A video from South Africa is getting a lot of attention - it's of Decio Lourenco bombing a hill, doing just shy of 70 MPH in Cape Town (see Decio Lourenco video here.
The video, shot with a video camera stuck to the bumper of a buddy's car, might get Lourenco arrested. "All that was needed was for one of those motorists to panic and swerve into the oncoming traffic and you have a large number of deaths, as we have already had on that road," said city safety advisor Jean-Pierre Smith. "If we don't take action against him, every other aspirant skateboarder will try it and one of them will come to a sticky end."
But Lourenco isn't new to this. he claims that he knew exactly what he was doing, and points out that he was wearing safety gear and that he skated at a safe time of day. "I've been skating down hills from a young age," said Lourenco in an interview. "Often going much faster than that. This is the first time I've gotten any attention for it."
What do YOU think? Should skaters like Lourenco be allowed to bomb hills like this? Or is this too unsafe? Where would YOU draw the line? Leave a comment below! And learn more about longboarding.

I love going fast down hill with my longboards but 70 MPH is nuts, he’s actually lucky to be alive.
Isn’t it 68 km/h (kph) not miles (mph)?..
So it’s JUST 42 MPH. ;-P
Ah HA! That makes a ton more sense! I had a tough time believing it…
Video on your youtube link was dead or removed already. try this one out.
