Laugh, Cringe and Cheer with Nitro Circus The Movie 3D

By December 22, 2012

Follow me on:

Nitro CircusI just watched the Nitro Circus movie in 3D DVD with my brother and 11 year old nephew, and it was amazing! Like I love boards, my brother loves dirt and motors. While Nitro Circus doesn't have very much skateboarding in it (only like 2 quick stunts), it does feature a lot of very funny and insightful commentary from Rob Dyrdek, Ryan Sheckler and Bob Burnquist (plus Travis Pastrana married pro skater Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, so that makes him a part of the family).

I might write a longer review later (EDIT - here's the longer review), but I wanted to plug this movie real quick tonight. If you are looking for a last minute gift idea, and the person you're shopping for likes stunts, bikes, cars, Jackass or anything mildly related, this is the perfect DVD. Plus you can get it in 3D, which is kind of sweet. The movie is more than just stunts - it tells the story working up from the early days of Nitro Circus, building to the debut of their live show in Vegas (which I would kill to go to!). You get to see several new insane and / or hilarious stunts, meet the crew, and there's even some heart felt moments with Wheels (who "rides a wheelchair"), and Jim DeChamp's injury. You also get to hear from all kinds of celebrities like the afore mentioned pro skaters, Johnny Knoxville, Channing Tatum (why?!), and more! The 3D is a cool extra feature, especially in the very beginning, but not necessary. Overall, I think that most skaters and fans of action sports and "extreme" anything will really enjoy this movie. I hope this mini review helps! Check out the Nitro Circus the Movie website for details and where to buy it.

I am actually watching my Nephew tonight and one of my coworkers at DISH suggested Nitro Circus 3D. After reading your review I can see why. I am not really into skateboarding, but motors are my thing for sure. And I canít wait to check out some extreme stunts in 3D. It has gotten very expensive to go to the theaters as of late, but now we have the DISH Hopper. It lets us rent 3D movies right to our living room, so tonight I am not only saving money, but I also get to avoid the cold.
