Mountain Dew Digs Deeper - The Green Label Art: Shop Series

By , About.com GuideJune 30, 2010

Follow me on:

Paul Rodriguez and Don PendletonThe Green Label Art: Shop Series is a contest that Mountain Dew is putting on. Basically, Mountain Dew has chosen 35 skate shops around the country to collaborate with an artist of their choice to design a Mountain Dew can that will be distributed nationally in 2011. The regional winners will be announced at the Salt Lake City Dew Tour stop and the national winner will be announced at the summer Dew Tour finals in Vegas in October.

So Mountain Dew is wiggling it's way more and more into skateboarding - which, as long as that means more growth and more money, that's a good thing, right?! Paul Rodriguez and Don Pendleton seem to think so. They've worked together to make their own can (that's them working on it in the photo).

All 35 shops' designs are on the Green Label website and people can go on and vote up to seven times per day for their favorite shop or can. Each time they vote they are entered into a sweepstakes that includes some pretty cool prizes (also on the site) and a trip to one of the Dew Tour stops this summer. Here's a commercial about it, that you'll be seeing on TV all summer. Feel free to comment below if you have a design you want people to go vote for, or if you have something exciting to share!
