Am skater Tim Knuth takes second in AST prelims

Thursday October 16, 2008
17 year old Timmy Knuth took second place overall in the skate park prelims on Thursday (Oct. 16), held at the AST Dew Tour’s PlayStation Pro.

Back in September, Knuth won the Free Flow Title. This won him a spot in the AST Dew Tour finals, which are this weekend. It was exciting to see him get this wild card position, but I had no idea he would rock this hardcore in the prelims! He won a score of 84.75, landing a tre flip up a gap and a kickflip to crook grind. I didn't get to see it, but word on the street is he was amazing.

“There’s so much great talent coming up in Florida right now, and I feel really honored to be representing them,” Knuth said. “It’s amazing to skate with all these professionals. I’m trying to learn from them and, at the same time, do the best that I can against them.”

With the second-place finish in prelims, Knuth earns a spot in the skate park finals, taking place on Sunday, Oct. 19 from 4-5:30pm. Knuth will be competing against top skate park athletes including Ryan Sheckler, Chaz Ortiz and Paul Rodriguez, who are sitting in the top three positions in the year-long Dew Tour standings.
