Take another look at longboarding

Longboarding - it's like skateboarding's older brother. You know, the older brother who's a little more mellow, a little more stylish, and a little more respectable. If you've given longboarding a shot, you know that it's a whole different kind of sweet from regular skateboarding. Plus, if you feel too old to skate (even though you probably aren't), longboarding can be a great style of skateboarding to graduate to. Whoever you are, here are some great longboarding resources to take a look at:
- If you haven't given longboarding a shot, you should! Check out How to Longboard to get some of the basics down of riding longboards.
- If you've been longboarding for any real length of time, spice it up with some Longboard Dancing tricks!
- Really boost your downhill longboarding by setting up a slide deck, and then learn how to Coleman slide.
- And if downhill longboarding is your thrill of choice, you're in luck! Next weekend is the Maryhill Festival of Speed in Washington state. This is also called the IGSA World Championships. Their new site is pretty sweet.
- And finally, if you are looking for a longboard, check out some longboard reviews. Personally, I'm a big fan of Arbor. They look and feel luxurious. With college starting, now is a great time to pick up a longboard!

Great links and tips! I’ve been helping out my son with his online skate shop, and am trying my hand at longboarding. I’ll be 63 next month, but what the hey — I’m in good shape, so why not check out the pastime Boyd Jr. has been so passionate about since he was ten? Okay, I don’t expect to be doing transitions anytime soon, but my son’s buddies tell me I’m doing great — Skate and Destroy!
