Skateboard helmets are one of those things that no one wants to spend too much money on. Most skaters don't even want to wear a helmet at all! But, hitting your head is all too easy in skateboarding, and for that time you DO slam your skull into the coping or curb, you will be glad you bought the best skateboard helmet you could! This new Best Skateboard Helmet List should help you pick out a good skateboard helmet.

Most kids I see riding today don’t wear helmets. I have always worn a helmet and will not step on a skateboard without one on my head. Of course I grew up when vert skating was popular and all the magazines promoted helmets and pads. With the popularity of street skating, riding without a helmet is the norm, and most pictures in the magazines feature kids riding without helmets. My choice of helmet has always been the Pro Tec. The Protec Classic is nice and fits me good but my favorite is the the Protec Caballero. S One also produces a good helmet at a nice price . The S One Damager fits really good but is not CPSC certified (CPSC stands for US Consumer Product Safety Commission). S One does make the Damager and other helmets that are CPSC certified. The difference between a CPSC helmet and a NON CPSC helmet is the NON CPSC only has foam padding and will sit lower on your head for a more comfortable fit. The CPSC Helmet sits higher on your head but will offer more protection. If you are deciding on purchasing a helmet, I recommend buying a good quality helmet like a Protec or an S One because your head is worth it. I believe that skaters like Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, and Buckey Lasek to name a few, have had long careers in skateboarding because they have always worn helmets.
