Blind Irish skater rocks Florida

Monday August 11, 2008
Josh Stundon was born in Ireland, and he's blind. He always wanted to skateboard, and on a recent trip to Florida, he did! He met up with a guy named Scooter who spent a week with him, and taught him some skateboarding basics. Check out a video of Josh, the blind skater, on YouTube.

It's tough to watch something like that, and to think about what we let limit ourselves. Last year I told you about a girl who calls herself Daredog, who taught herself to skate at age 20 (read about Daredog, the blind skater).

You would think that something as major as blindness would keep someone from even trying skateboarding! But if these guys can learn to ride, there's no reason I can think of to not give skateboarding a shot! Age, ability, location - most of these things can be overcome in one way or another. It seems like all it takes is drive. What do you think? Post a comment below.
