Weenabago Projekt 2: Crossing America

Saturday July 26, 2008
Weenabago Projekt 2 Postcard FlyerHuntington Beach Skatepark is no more. It's sad, lame, and if you don't live in California you might not care. Huntington Beach Skatepark was historic - read about it in an earlier skateboard blog post.

With the close of the park, Tosh Townend and crew will be showing their new film, Weenabago Projekt 2, "Crossing America" on Wednsday, August 6th at the Regency Theater at Warner and Beach. Half of the proceeds go to the new Huntington Beach Skatepark. The film features Tosh Townend, Chris Senn, Neen Williams, Pat Pasquale and more.

"The Weenabago Projekt" began as a concept in the mid-2000’s as a road trip in which a '70's motorhome was filled with a collection of diverse skaters and hit the road from Huntington Beach, rocketing non-stop to Vancouver and then finding it’s way back through coastal and central California until they come over the "grapevine" back into LA three weeks later.

Now the second instalment of the concept is complete “The Weenabago Projekt/Crossing America” in which this time Tosh and friends transverse America from the West to the East ending up in New York City with all the skating and adventures in between as they go from the breakdown motorhome of journey number one to “Ghetto Fabulous” with the up-grade to a Sprinter for the new version.
