Skater saves planet from global warming

Novelist Stephen Andrews has written a book called The Maelstrom Mission, which he calls "an action-packed adventure for ‘young adults’ – and anyone else, really – set against the background of Global Warming." The main character is Freddie McBain, a skater (and yes, that features heavily into the story), who gets caught up in a mission to save the world from global warming, and a swarm of bad guys reminiscent of Captain Planet. You can read the first 40 pages or so on the Maelstrom Mission website, and Stephen offers to send the rest of the book as a PDF to anyone who wants it (there's a request form on the site).
