Over the last 30 years or so, skateboarding has exploded from a primarily western hobby into a full blown global pandemic. But, most of us only know what skateboarding is like in our own
country, or maybe in the US (thanks to videos). So, I've kicked off a new project - Skateboarding Around the World
! So far we have interviews and descriptions of skateboarding in 6 countries, but there are more on the way!
- Ever wonder what it would be like to skate in the Middle East? Omar describes what it's like to enjoy skateboarding in Lebanon, despite the bombings.
- Jose tells us about the Chilean skateboarding scene, and how if people see you skating in Chile, you look like a rock star!
- Meanwhile, Martin talks about how skateboarding in Ireland is a battle with Mother Nature, and with being misunderstood.
If you skate somewhere outside the US and want to share, let me know or leave a comment below! I'm looking for pro and average skaters from all over the planet who want to shed some light on skateboarding on their corner of the globe.
