Build Your Own Board for Christmas!

Monday November 19, 2007
choose the parts for your own custom skateboard - step by step instructions on picking partsBuying a pre-made complete skateboard is great, but personally I love having my own custom complete skateboard that I picked out all the parts for. And, they make perfect gifts for Christmas!

I've been getting a lot of questions lately from people who are trying to put together a skateboard for a loved one for Christmas. It's a great idea, but picking out the right deck size, truck size, wheels - it can all get overwhelming! So, I've updated the Build Your Own Pro Grade Skateboard article with an actual deck size chart, and some help with understanding truck sizes!

If you are picking out a new board as a gift, there are three things you need to know first - You will need to know how tall your skater is, what kind of skateboarding he or she likes the most (street, park, vert, all terrain or cruising), and what skateboarding brands he or she likes. Once you've got these down, read these instructions and have fun!
