Arkansas Cop Attack - Skylar's Story
Thursday September 6, 2007
Skylar Nalls, one of the skaters involved in the infamous incident in Hot Springs, Arkansas earlier this year (June 21st), has come forward to tell his story. I recommend reading it - it'll break your heart to hear about what he and his friends have been through, about the fear they now live with, all because they broke a city ordnance against skateboarding downtown. If you skate, or if your child rides a skateboard, you really should read Skylar's story. So far, the officer responsible for choking a child for skateboarding is still on the force, and the whole event has been swept under the rug. This should not be allowed. Its nice to see Skylar come out and speak about what really happened despite the fear that the oppresive have used to try to silience and break down his will.
***THEY WILL NOT/CAN NOT CHOKE THE TRUTH.
Thank you so much for running this story. I think it is indicative of the tide that has turned against personal liberty around our country. It’s sad enough that such an ordinance would get passed… if skateboarders annoy you, deal with it, don’t legislate against them… but that the case wasn’t thrown out? Unacceptable. The norms of the majority are never an excuse to trample the rights of the minority.
thank you for such a good story.
I can’t believe that stinking cop got away with that. I ALWAYS support police when they are right, but that scumbag choking a child because he lost his temper is totally unacceptable.
