Danny Way Sets Another World Record
Monday April 10, 2006
On April 6, Danny Way destroyed the “Bomb Drop” (jumping off a structure on a skateboard and freefalling onto a landing) world record by freefalling 28 feet from the Fender Stratocaster guitar atop the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, landing cleanly on a ramp below. Top vert skater pros Bob Burnquist, Pierre-Luc “PLG” Gagnon, Rune Glifberg, Tony Magnusson, Mathias Ringstrom, and Jake Brown also made appearances at the Hard Rock on April 6 to ride the MegaRamp. Skateboarding legends, Lance Mountain, Nicky Guerrero, Bruno Passos were there to support. “Despite the variables in the ramp design, once again, we managed to make this challenge happen,” said Danny Way. “This event demonstrates the continued progression of skateboarding.” This jump follows Danny Way's world record breaking jump of the Great Wall of China last year.
